About
Independent by design.
IT Society is a Melbourne advisory firm built on a simple idea: organisations are better served by a practitioner who owes nothing to a vendor. We work across telecommunications, cyber security and data because the hardest problems tend to sit where those three meet.
Who we are
IT Society was founded by a technology practitioner whose work spans carrier voice and communications, enterprise security architecture, and the delivery of data and reporting. That range is deliberate. Connectivity, security and data are rarely separate problems in practice, and advice that treats them in isolation tends to miss the point.
We are intentionally small. When you engage IT Society, you deal with the person doing the work, not a layer of account managers. Where an engagement calls for additional specialist capability, we bring in trusted associates and remain accountable for what is delivered.
How we think about the work
Independent
We hold no reseller arrangements and carry no product quotas. Our recommendation is whatever fits your situation, and we will tell you when the answer is to do less, or nothing.
Practitioner-led
We have built the systems, run the migrations, and sat in the room when something broke. Advice grounded in having done the work is worth more than advice drawn from a template.
Plain and written down
We work in plain language and we leave you with a record. Good advice should survive the meeting it was given in, and be something you can hand to your board or your team.
Honest about risk
We are candid about what matters and what does not. We would rather lose an argument than let a decision go through on a comfortable assumption.
The team
IT Society is led by a senior practitioner and draws on a network of trusted specialists brought in as the work requires. You deal directly with the person responsible for your engagement. Whoever does the work, we remain accountable for what is delivered.
Let's talk about what you are facing.
The first conversation is direct and without obligation. Tell us the problem and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
